A total of 122 professionals have joined the medical centres of the Torrevieja health department. Of those, 46 are doctors specialising in family and community medicine, 3 paediatricians, 57 nursing professionals and 16 orderlies, according to a report from the Ministry of Health. The new additions are said to be “considerably reducing the average waiting time, placing it at historical lows across the department.” The average wait to be treated in local primary care health centres is 4.85 days – with some centres having a much lower average waiting time.
