San Pedro del Pinatar will be in party mood as they celebrate Carnival from February 17 to 19 with various activities, among which the Gala stands out, in which the Carnival Mask will be delivered, a party for the little ones, the first ever canine carnival and the parade of local troupes and visitors.
The Councillor for Festivities, Javier Castejón, presented the program for San Pedro del Pinatar Carnival 2023, which will take place from February 17 to 19 and will include activities for all ages.
Thus, the programming will start on Friday, February 17 with the Carnival Gala, in which the local troupes will present their costumes, the 2023 Carnival Mask will be delivered and the battle of Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma will take place, which this year id by the Municipal School of Performing Arts.
The gala, which will be held in the municipal tent on the Lo Pagán esplanade, starting at 9:30 p.m., will also be enlivened by performances by Ballet Kebanna, the Beniaján chirigota and the Musidrag show “Con la Poli en los heels”.
The activities will continue on Saturday, February 18, with children’s programming, which will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución from 11:00 am, with face painting, workshops, inflatables, animation and the musical “Imagilandia”.
As a novelty this year, a canine carnival is added to the program, at 5:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitución, which will include three prizes for the most original costumes, as worn by pets, not humans.
The programming will culminate on Sunday, with the Great Carnival parade, in which the participation of 2,000 people from local troupes and visitors is expected and which will leave at 5:00 p.m. from avenida Las Salinas, next to the Cultural Casino, to the Lo Pagán tent where prizes will be awarded to participants in different categories.
