Endangered Tortoises Found in Valencia House

Twenty-seven endangered tortoises have been found at a house in Valencia. Twenty-five are Greek or Blackberry tortoises which are found in the Mediterranean and North Africa. The others are African spurred tortoise which is the largest mainland species in the world. Both species are protected under Spanish law and are listed as threatened animals. Guardia Civil are now investigating the 38-year-old owner.
