A man described as a ‘master counterfeiter’ and ‘one of the best counterfeiters in Europe’ by police, has been arrested. The man and his associates are accused of forging 500-euro notes. Twelve arrests have been made in the Costa Blanca and Valencia areas over several months, after the printing press was located in La Nucia. The gang is believed to have been responsible for more than eight million euros in fake notes, the largest scam of its kind in Europe.
