A 45-year-old man and his girlfriend, a 48-year-old woman, have been arrested accused of a 70,000 euros fraud, for the trade of 200,000 kilos of lemons. The duo is believed to have swindled farmers from various towns, including Orihuela and Murcia after posing as a citrus trading company. The fruit was brought on credit and sold at a profit without reimbursing the owners. Police were alerted to the scam by several farmers and discovered the company was bogus.
