Torrevieja and Orihuela are tops for expats looking for a second home, according to the Notarial Association of Valencia. The two towns account for more than a third of all international transactions in the multi-billion euro market. Torrevieja saw a 96 percent rise compared to the previous year, with 4,854 house sales. In Orihuela, it was the coast that attracted the majority of the 3,396 sales, with British buys leading the way.
