According to the Official College of Quantity Surveyors of Alicante, the Vega Baja led house construction growth in 2022 with 39 percent of the market. Across the province construction increased by 44 percent, with 2,232 homes started compared to 1,541 in 2021. By municipality, Orihuela, Pilar de la Horadada, Guardamar de Segura, Torrevieja and Rojales stood out as home construction hubs.
