Firefighters from Torrevieja were called to a fire in an empty house in the urbanisation Torreta Florida. The house, located on Calle Clarín, was in flames as was a vehicle in the basement of the building. This caused a considerable amount of acrid smoke both inside and out of the property and mechanical ventilation was needed.
