Migrants off Torrevieja

A boat that had 13 people on board was intercepted 19 miles off the coast of Torrevieja, according to the Red Cross. The boat was carrying 13 Algerian men, all over the age of 18 and all in good health. The first sighting was made by a fishing vessel, which approached the boat and stayed close by until the migrants were rescued. The Maritime Service launched the ‘Salvamar Leo’ and its crew to complete the rescue.
