The emergency services centre in Murcia has given a breakdown on the New Year’s Eve callouts across the region. There was a total of 3,153 calls, of which 1,872 required police, fire service or ambulance intervention. Most of the incidents were health related with 876 cases – mainly alcohol poisoning, respiratory distress and trauma or falls. There were 365 public safety-related incidents such as fights, noisy neighbours and traffic accidents.
