The Guardia Civil is investigating the violent death of a 77-year-old Spanish woman, who died in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday 21st Dec) at her home in Guardamar del Segura. The woman was the owner of the Hotel Guardamar and very well-known in the area. The alarm was raised by her 51-year-old son who told police the pair were victims of a violent robbery at the hands of three or four people. The man claims he was tied up and beaten and when he came round the men were gone and his mother was dead. The man was taken to hospital with a head injury. Police investigations are still underway.
