So far, one person has been arrested in Madrid, and 40 others investigated for falsifying driving licences, after the Guardia Civil detected more than 50 false driving licenses in various provinces.
The network dismantled by the Muzawara operation used fake Moroccan driving licences, to later exchange them for Spanish licences.
The Guardia Civil has carried out a search at the detainee’s Madrid home, from where the different driving licences were distributed to various parts of the Spanish geography. Investigators have seized numerous documents, cash, mobile devices and driving licences linked to the investigations.
The operation remains open and further arrests are not ruled out.
